Message from our CEO
“If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.
It Takes Time and Perseverance…
There are many inspirational people in the past that have encouraging stories which show me that I am not the only person who would like to microwave situations. It truly takes time and perseverance. Each individual we are faced with is a seed that needs to be planted, watered and nurtured. If we try to microwave our seeds we will have popcorn and not a harvest.
We are working with people that need someone to walk with them out of their situation of being homeless and destitute and into society. In order to do this, there are challenges which together we need to overcome.
“It’s not that I’m so smart, it’s just that I stay with problems longer”.-
Albert Einstein
So the journey we are on is one that takes time and perseverance. As much as we would like to see every homeless and destitute person off the streets of Durban, living in their homes and generating their own sustainable income right now, we realise Rome was not built in a day. Saying this, we get to know these individuals better every day and are able to be the community they never had. This is very rewarding for all of us involved which helps us appreciate the time and perseverance.

WINTER BLANKET DRIVE SUCCESS!!
On the 21st of May we were blessed to be able to hand out blankets to the homeless. This was made possible by NYK Logistics and BLG SA (Pty) Ltd, who generously donated 90 blankets each. The management and staff of these two companies joined us on this special Sunday to assist. We are very grateful to these companies for assisting us in this urgent need and ensuring that 180 homeless people will be sleeping warm this winter season.
